Medical Assisting at ACTC receives 100% pass rate

Published on Jun 2, 2026

Ashland Community and Technical College (ACTC) is proud to announce that the Medical Assisting program has achieved a 100% pass rate on their National Certification exam, meaning that all five graduates of the 2026 Medical Assisting cohort have successfully earned their national certification.

This achievement reflects the dedication of ACTC students and the quality of the college’s Medical Assisting program, which prepares graduates with the administrative, clinical, and laboratory skills needed to thrive in today’s healthcare settings.

“Passing the certification exam is the primary goal, as certification is essential for students to secure employment in the field,” said Kellie Cyrus, ACTC Medical Assisting program coordinator. “I am extremely proud of each of these students. They have worked diligently, excelled in their coursework, and gained valuable experience during their externships.”

The Medical Assisting program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive skill set, preparing them to become well-rounded healthcare professionals. Through classroom instruction and real-world experiences, students develop the knowledge necessary to support an outpatient medical facility team.

“I am confident that each of them will succeed as a medical assistant,” Cyrus said. “They have demonstrated strong clinical competencies and successfully passed their national certification exam. They didn’t just barely pass; they passed with flying colors.”

The program’s success extends beyond the most recent graduating class. ACTC currently maintains a 100% certification pass rate, meaning that every student who has graduated from the Medical Assisting program has successfully passed the National Healthcareer Association Certified Clinical Medical Assistant exam.

The deadline to apply for the next Medical Assisting cohort at ACTC is June 30, 2026.
