ACTC raises over $25k during annual KCTCS Giving Day
Published on Apr 28, 2026
This year’s Giving Day at Ashland Community and Technical College (ACTC) was defined by generosity and a collective dedication to student success.
ACTC participated alongside the other fifteen KCTCS colleges in the 24-hour fundraising event last Wednesday. Donations will support the college’s greatest needs fund, scholarships, the food pantry, the alumni association, and David & Libbi Mullins Caines Student Emergency Fund.
A total of $25,154 was raised during the event through contributions from alumni, board members, faculty/staff, students, friends, and new donors.
“Every Giving Day reminds me how extraordinary the ACTC community truly is,” said Kim Minnehan-Jones, ACTC advancement administrator. “Raising $25,154 is a remarkable result, but what means even more is seeing students, employees, alumni, and community members come together with such genuine care and generosity.”
Donors shared a variety of reasons for contributing during Giving Day, from personal experiences with scholarships to gratitude for a career spent at ACTC.
“I am inspired by our students who choose to overcome obstacles, juggle responsibilities, and successfully complete their course and credentials at ACTC,” said Vicki McGinnis, ACTC dual credit coordinator.
“These gifts will provide critical support for our students and help meet some of ACTC’s greatest needs,” said Minnehan-Jones. “I am always amazed by the heartfelt support that comes through, and this year was no exception.”
