ACTC honors organization publishes literary journal
February 18, 2026
ASHLAND, Ky. – Members of ACTC’s Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society (PTK) are pleased to announce that their 2025 Honors Project, a student-led literary journal titled Threads of Strength – Stories of Hope, Healing, Resilience, and Sorrow, is now available free of charge at both the College Drive and Technology Drive campus libraries.
This journal showcases original poems, short stories, and artwork created by ACTC students, faculty, and staff, highlighting personal experiences of perseverance, healing, and resilience.
Guided and curated by PTK student leaders, the project reflects the power of storytelling as a means of connection, reflection, and community-building across campus.
The concept of a literary journal was chosen based on the themes to guide the honors research project given by PTK International, specifically on the topic of storytelling.
ACTC student Kyli Springer, currently serving as President of ACTC’s PTK Chapter, was a key contributor and curator for the project.
"Threads of Strength has given students a place to share our voices, build community, and strengthen our campus culture through art and writing,” she said. “For me though, it was an opportunity to find the courage to share my writing with others. While working on this project, I learned that I need to push myself out of my comfort zone in order to be a part of something bigger."
Students, faculty, staff, and community members are invited to visit the ACTC libraries to explore the journal and celebrate the voices and creativity of our college.
The publication will be available through the end of the spring 26 term and is also available to view virtually through the Kentucky Digital Library.
