Bryant, Byrd named 2025 KCTCS Scholars

Ashland Community and Technical College (ACTC) is pleased to announce that Kate Bryant and Eric Byrd have been named Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) Scholars for the 2024-2025 academic year.

Thirty-two students, two from each of the 16 colleges, were selected by KCTCS for this prestigious recognition. Students were chosen based on a rigorous process that focuses on academic performance and community service.

Bryant, from Olive Hill, is graduating with an associate degree in Medical Information Technology. Bryant is involved with Student Support Services at ACTC, a member of the Tri-Alpha Honor Society, and has served as Vice President of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, Alpha Omega Gamma Chapter from 2024-2025 and the Kentucky Regional Vice President for 2025-2026.

“I am deeply honored and grateful to receive the Scholar award,” said Bryant. “This recognition not only recognizes the dedication and effort I’ve invested in my studies but also encourages me to continue striving for more. Thank you for this meaningful acknowledgement and encouragement.”

Byrd, from Ashland, is graduating with an associate degree in business administration. He is involved with Student Support Services at ACTC and is a member of both the Tri-Alpha Honor Society and the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, Alpha Omega Gamma Chapter.

“I was genuinely surprised to be selected as a KCTCS Scholar,” said Byrd. “It’s an unexpected honor that has truly motivated me to keep pushing forward in my academic journey. I’m grateful for the recognition and excited for what’s ahead.”
