ACTC hosts inaugural Pathfinder celebration luncheon to honor alumni

Published on Mar 13, 2025

Ashland Community and Technical College (ACTC) held its inaugural Pathfinder Celebration Luncheon on Tuesday, March 11, honoring the alumni featured as part of the college’s Pathfinder campaign.

Launched in 2022, the Pathfinder campaign highlights the success stories of ACTC alumni, inspiring current and future students by showcasing the opportunities that the college provides.

“At ACTC, we believe in the power of education to transform lives,” said Megan Smedley, ACTC assistant director of public relations & alumni engagement, during her opening remarks. “Each of you have not only achieved great things, but you’ve also left a trail for others to follow. Your journeys are a testament to the hard work, dedication, and resilience that are cultivated here at ACTC. You are not just alumni, you are ambassadors for our college, inspiring future generations of students to believe that they, too, can find their path at ACTC.”

The event also included a presentation from ACTC President & CEO Dr. Larry Ferguson and a special unveiling of commemorative bricks honoring each Pathfinder. These bricks will be placed along the walking paths at ACTC campuses, symbolizing the lasting impact of these alumni.

Bricks are available for purchase through The Community & Technical College Foundation of Ashland, Inc. and can be purchased in memory or in honor of someone special in your life.

Proceeds directly support ACTC students through scholarships, food pantry, emergency funding, and other needs.
