High school students taking the next step to continue their education at ACTC

Ashland Community and Technical College’s Student Success and Enrollment Services and Financial Aid teams spent the month of April visiting partner high schools for the annual ACTC Next Steps Events.
Next Steps is an event that exists to help future ACTC students navigate the path that lies between high school and continuing their education in college.
Ten high schools were visited across Boyd, Carter, Elliott, Greenup, and Lawrence counties to help assist seniors who want to attend ACTC after their high school graduation.
Stations are set up at the event for Admissions, Advising, and Financial Aid at the high school. Before the students leave for the day, they know what steps they still need to complete to become a Pathfinder. Some students are even ready to enroll in classes and know what their ACTC class schedule is before they even graduate from high school.
“We are so grateful the high schools allow us to use their space to assist seniors,” said Megan Clark, ACTC Admissions Recruiter. “My favorite part of the Next Steps sessions is seeing students excited about making their class schedules – it is the point that makes everything seem real that high school is almost over for them.”
Throughout the month of April, over 175 students registered for fall 2024 at ACTC.
“We are so elated that they have decided to continue their education with Ashland Community and Technical College,” Clark concluded.
