ACTC works alongside WellCare to fight food insecurity by giving away 10 Easter dinners

Ashland Community and Technical College’s Pathfinder Pantry exists to help fight food insecurity year-round for those in our community. By working alongside members in the Tri-State area, the Pathfinder Pantry has the opportunity to make a difference for students during the holidays.
After giving away 37 dinners last Thanksgiving with several community partners, ACTC’s Erin Cantrell reached back out to do the same thing again this Easter.
Brynn Blevins-Fitzpatrick and WellCare provided another $500 sponsorship to be able to provide Easter dinners to be given away to students. This will enable the Pathfinder Pantry to give away ten dinners to students who have been utilizing the pantry throughout the year.
“I am very thankful that we are able to offer another dinner giveaway for our students who use the Pathfinder Pantry,” Erin Cantrell, ACTC Academic Advisor, commented. “Brynn Belvins-Fitzpatrick and WellCare have been awesome to work with. Food insecurity is a big issue in our communities and students who are able to receive snap benefits are very limited on what they can purchase each month,” she continued. “I hope everyone had a happy Easter.”
Dinners were given out on March 28 to students who reserved one. Dinners included ham, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, green beans, yams, rolls, carrot cake mix and frosting.
