cosmetology-classChanel Prince recently returned to where it all started for her at Ashland Community and Technical College’s Cosmetology program to teach a class to current students highlighting “Mindset, Manes, and Marketing.”

Prince is an alumna of the cosmetology program, having graduated in 2014.  She is currently the salon owner/stylist of Royal Reflections in Grayson, KY in addition to being a traveling hairstylist and educator for The Maneculture, specializing in bridal hair and lived in color.

“Chanel is a phenomenal cosmetologist and we, here at ACTC Cosmetology, are eternally grateful to have her as a resource for our students to learn and grow from,” Mourine Smith, Cosmetology Coordinator, shared. “Chanel strives to not only make her career successful but everyone around her as well. Her passion and determination are just a glimpse of the amazing person that she is.”

Prince’s class focused around sharing key components to marketing and advertising, social media strategy, maintaining professionalism, and tips to help grow their future business.

“You are only as professional as you make yourself,” Prince shared with the class. “No matter where you are in your career, keeping an open mind and being willing to learn from peers, other stylists, and your salon owners allows you to become a better stylist.”

“It's always so good to be back home where it all started for me,” Prince commented. “I love sharing, discussing, and teaching all the things that make this industry so wonderful! The talent coming from this place and in these students is so exciting to watch.”

Smith concluded by expressing her gratitude for Prince’s continued guidance and willingness to share her knowledge with current students.
