The Ashland Community and Technical College students’ art show is returning to downtown Ashland for another year of showcasing the work created throughout the year.

The show will be opening on Friday, April 12 from 5-7pm at Broadway Books in Ashland (1537A Winchester Avenue), with food catered by the Mill. The art will be on display until April 19th.

“Preparing for the student art show is always exciting for me,” Wendy Fosterwelsh, ACTC Professor of Art and Art Education shared. “Even though it requires a lot of work, it is so worth the time and effort.”

Over 30 students will be participating in the show, representing various art classes at ACTC, including Introduction to Art, Women in Art History, Drawing 1&2 and Painting 1&2.

“I love seeing all of our students’ hard work displayed in one place,” Fosterwelsh continued. “As I look around, I remember how some struggled to get started, but persevered and created exceptional pieces of art. It truly reveals the power of the human spirit and creativity.”

Fosterwelsh noted that the event is always a great time to enjoy art, engage with others, and eat good food. There will also be opportunities to win art supplies or gift card to the bookstore.

Students featured in the show include: Nancy Adams, Emma Arbogast, Sheriah Allen, Shianne Bennett, Abigail Bingham, Layla Bingham, Faith Blevins, Kiley Brammer, Chloe Brandeburg, Blake Brown, Stephanie Brown, Savanna Broughton, Kylie Busick, Cole Chapman, Catherine Chester, Jackson Childers, Rhianna Conley, Dylan Culver, Glenn Davis, Goldie Gehringer, Laci Harris, Nathan Justice, Dustin Lawson, Taylor Meadows, Diana Parker, Hannah Reed, Konner Rice, Alex Shepherd, Abbie Smith, and Ty Stevens.
