Ashland Community and Technical College is proud to announce the acquisition of a new facility located at 149 Commerce Drive, the latest addition to the college’s Technology Drive Campus.
This building, to be named the Transportation Training Center, will serve as the future home for several of ACTC’s key transportation programs, including Automotive Technology, Diesel Technology, and Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) training.
“This move is a game-changer for our transportation programs,” said Dr. Shannon Hankins, Associate Dean of Technical Programs. “The new facility will enhance our students’ learning experience and better prepare them for the demands of the transportation industry. We’re excited about what this means for the future of our programs.”
The building will replace the college’s existing campus on Roberts Drive, which is in need of extensive renovations and repairs.
By transitioning to the Transportation Training Center, ACTC will be able to offer state-of-the-art learning environments designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in today’s workforce.
“We are elated to acquire this building for our transportation-based programs,” said Dr. Larry Ferguson, ACTC President/CEO. “This will allow us to provide a world-class educational facility to ensure the graduates of these programs are highly prepared to enter the workforce.”
The approximately $10 million renovation of the Transportation Training Center will begin later this year. ACTC plans to complete the renovation on a 10-month schedule, with an expected opening in the fall of 2025.
The new facility reflects ACTC’s continued commitment to providing high-quality, industry-relevant education to its students and ensuring the local workforce needs are met.
An open house will be held upon the project’s completion.
