ACTC Pathfinder Food Pantry Contest a success

pathfinder food pantry contestThe ACTC Pathfinder Food Pantry is a valuable resource for students at Ashland Community and Technical College and is available to help combat food insecurity.

The Pathfinder Pantry aims to remove non-academic barriers to college success and contributes to educational attainment for all students.  Many students utilize this resource throughout our campuses each week, and ACTC was thankful to have the opportunity to supply over 30 Thanksgiving meals to students this holiday season.

Due to the steady demands of the pantry, the ACTC Staff Executive Council invited faculty and staff to participate in a friendly contest to supplement the inventory. Faculty and staff were encouraged to donate nonperishable items, and donations provided donors with the opportunity to vote for a colleague. The individual with the most nominations won the prize of a pie in the face.

Over 100 donations were made within two weeks to assist with restocking efforts, and monetary gifts were also collected.

“Special thanks to Dr. Ferguson for accepting his nomination and for his ongoing support,” said Ashley Vanderpool, ACTC Career Services Coordinator. “We appreciate everyone recognizing this in a spirit of fun and giving!”
