I’m a Pathfinder: Laynee Stanley
October 24, 2023
“My passion has always been my education,” ACTC Pathfinder, Laynee Stanley shared. “After spending time at ACTC, I have grown fond of my professors and peers because they’re also passionate about education. ACTC is such a caring environment, and I am always supported no matter what I am doing.”
Laynee Stanley is an 18-year-old Holy Family Collegiate High School senior who is getting a head start on finding her path right here at Ashland Community & Technical College.
Stanley transferred to Holy Family Catholic School upon learning about the collegiate program that was formed in conjunction with ACTC in 2014. This program gives students the opportunity to simultaneously earn a high school diploma and a community college degree. In this partnership, Holy Family Collegiate High School students attend the first two years in a college preparatory program at the Holy Family campus.
Stanley is currently in her second year of her associate of applied science degree, which she will achieve along with her high school diploma in May 2024.
After Stanley’s time at ACTC comes to a close in May, she plans on transferring to a four-year university to achieve her BSN. She also has plans to start her CPT this coming winter to become a personal trainer after graduation in May.
“I have had mentors who have inspired me and helped me find my niche to become as successful as I can in furthering my education,” Stanley continued. She notes that she would not be where she is today without the support of Mr. Worthington at Holy Family Catholic School, as he has played a large role in her success thus far.
“As the Student Government Association President, I want to be the voice of students to help make their time as enjoyable as I can here at ACTC,” Stanley concluded. “I want students at ACTC to enjoy it just as much as I do.”
