Ashland Community and Technical College hosted a successful Program Fair on Friday, September 29 at the ACTC Technology Drive Campus. 242 junior and senior high school students were in attendance from 8 high schools in the area including East Carter, Rose Hill, Greenup County, Fairview, Holy Family, Ashland Blazer, Boyd County, and West Carter. 198 8th grade students from Boyd County were also in attendance.

“We would love to invite more middle school students to attend in the future,” said Megan Clark, ACTC Recruitment Specialist. “It is never too early to begin thinking about college.” Any middle school who would like more information should contact ACTC at AS_Recruitment@kctcs.edu.

More than 20 ACTC program coordinators and instructors were present at the event to talk to the middle and high school students about all the opportunities and programs ACTC offers. ACTC representatives also spoke to students about financial aid, student support services, career services, diversity, admissions and advising. The students in attendance were able to attend an information session where they were able to ask any questions they had about the college application process, as well as the opportunity to complete an ACTC admission application.

“ACTC is so glad many of our partner high schools visited campus to learn more about programs of study, student services, career and transfer pathways, scholarships, and grants,” Clark added. “Every year we love seeing local high school students speak with our faculty and staff about all the opportunities available to them at ACTC! We hope to see many of these faces return as Pathfinders in the fall.”
