Scott Campbell: Pathfinder serving the Ashland community

Ashland Community and Technical College is proud to have alumni who are doing great things in the community.

Scott Campbell currently serves as the CEO and Executive Director of the Ashland Area YMCA since 2019.

After graduating from high school in Boyd County, Campbell enrolled in Ashland Community College and started working at the local YMCA.

He then transferred to Morehead State University to earn a bachelor’s degree in computer science. 

“I got my basics at ACC and saved a lot of money,” Campbell continued. “I paid my way through college, I paid all of it. Ashland Community College enabled me to get an education and pay for it myself.”

Campbell worked at the YMCA and went to school at ACC for three years. “The education I got at ACC was equivalent to if not greater than my education at Morehead,” said Campbell.

According to their website, the Ashland Area YMCA has been serving the Ashland area since 1897 by providing facilities, programs and leadership that is available to all, and addressed the fitness, wellness, and family needs of the community.
