April 5, 2022
ASHLAND, Ky. – With over 150 students/alumni in attendance and nearly 50 employers present, Ashley Vanderpool, Director of Career Services at Ashland Community and Technical College called last Thursday’s career fair “the best one yet.”
"Our Career Fair continues to grow. We were so pleased to have the largest attendance for both students and employers since we have reinstated this event,” she said. “We are proud to provide an opportunity for our talented ACTC students and alumni to network with industry professionals.”
ACTC, in partnership with the Ashland Alliance, hosts a career fair each semester. This semester, Career Services announced they will be holding an additional fair, specifically targeting those students/alumni planning careers in healthcare.
Career Services staff work with students throughout the semester to prepare them for career fairs and job opportunities. Services include assisting with resumes, mock interviews, and other employability support.
“Our students have prepared for this event not only through diligent work in their classrooms and labs but through internship experiences with local businesses, soft skills preparation with the Career Services staff, and registering with Handshake, ACTC’s free career management platform that allows students to register for events and connect with employers,” said Vanderpool. “We are also grateful for the support of the faculty and staff at ACTC, who prepare our students for the workforce and promote career services activities throughout the year.”
