ACTC enters partnership with Family Scholar House

ASHLAND, Ky. – Ashland Community and Technical College has partnered with Family Scholar House, an organization out of Louisville, to offer services students can utilize while they are enrolled at the college. 

According to their website, the mission of Family Scholar House is to end the cycle of poverty and transform communities by empowering families and youth to succeed in education and achieve life-long self-sufficiency.

Family Scholar House will offer apprenticeship and academic coaching, advocacy support, health and wellness coaching, and connections to community resources free of charge. 

Students, faculty, and staff interested in receiving those services should call Family Scholar House at (502) 289-6384 or email info@familyscholarhouse.org. 

“We are thrilled to be able to partner with Family Scholar House to offer additional resources which will ensure our students have the best possible chance at success during their time as an ACTC student,” said Steve Woodburn, Chief Student Affairs Officer.

ACTC is also working on providing a kiosk from Family Scholar House which will be placed in a central location on the College Drive campus. This kiosk will allow for students, faculty, and staff to search on campus for needed resources. 

This kiosk will give access to free services such as ESL classes, diapers or formula, or mental health support, among other things.

Additional information will be provided to the ACTC community throughout the semester.
