Sept. 17, 2018
ACTC is once again offering child care provider trainings. The cost is $15 per
person per class. Fee must be paid at the time of registration.
Each three-hour class is taught by an ECE TRIS certified instructor and will be submitted to ECE TRIS for Child Care Provider Training hours. All classes will be at ACTC’s Roberts Drive Campus located at 4700 Roberts Drive, Building 5, Ashland.
Upcoming classes are:
Children, Adults and Situational Stress (9 a.m.-12 p.m., Oct. 20): Stress is caused by situations that put high demands on you, but don't give you much control over how you're going to meet those demands. Children and adults are affected by these demands and those outcomes are often demonstrated in the child care setting. This workshop will define stress, how to manage the effects, and conclude with a make and take activity. This session is designed for infant/toddler staff, preschool staff and school age staff.
Active Supervision (9 a.m.-12 p.m., Nov. 12): Distraction happens in the classroom, but how do you handle it? This class will define active supervision, identify elements and peak times for distractions and identify key elements to active supervision. This class is designed for all staff.
To register for these trainings, call 606-326-2130 or 606-326-2072 or visit ashland.kctcs.edu/workforce_solutions/ to register online. Payment is due at the time of registration.
