Nursing Curriculum

Year One

Prerequisites

  • AA or AS Quantitative Reasoning - 3 Credit Hours
  • BIO 137 Human Anatomy and Physiology - 4 Credit Hours
  • PSY 110 General Psychology - 3 Credit Hours
  • Documentation of 75 hour Nurse Aide Training or Equivalent - 0-3 Credit Hours 
  • Taken the State Registry Nurse Aid examination
  • Healthcare Provider CPR - 0-1 Credit Hours
  • Total Hours - 10-14 Credit Hours

* IF ADMITTED INTO THE NURSING PROGRAM, documentation of successful completion of a minimum 75-hour nursing assistant course or its equivalent (i.e. completion of nursing fundamentals in another RN program or LPN licensure) is required prior to enrolling in the first nursing course. If the N.A.A. course was completed greater than 2 years prior to admission, it will not meet the requirement unless the applicant is listed on the state registry.

First Semester

  • NSG 101 Nursing I or NSG 109 Military Medic to A.D.N. I – 6-9 Credit Hours
  • BIO 139 Human Anatomy and Physiology II - 4 Credit Hours
  • Total Hours - 13 Credit Hours

Second Semester

  • NSG 195 Transition to ADN or NSG 209 Military Medic to A.D.N. II or NSG 219 Medical Surgical Nursing I - 4-7 Credit Hours
  • NSG 212 Behavioral Health Nursing - 3 Credit Hours
  • ENG 101 Writing I - 3 Credit Hours
  • Total Hours - 10-13 Credit Hours

Year Two

Third Semester

  • NSG 229 Medical Surgical Nursing II - 7 Credit Hours
  • NSG 211 Maternal Newborn Nursing - 3 Credit Hours
  • BIO 225 Medical Microbiology - 4 Credit Hours
