Academic Advising Center

We Are Here to Help

The ACTC Advising Center is here to help make the transition into student life as easy as possible. Advisers work with students to interpret placement test results and select courses to meet their academic and career goals. Every credential-seeking student will be assigned an academic adviser based on their major. If you are a current student, please take a moment to complete our 2014/2015 Advising Survey

Getting Started

Our Advising Check sheet will help you make sure you have completed all the steps to get your college career off to a good start. If you have any questions feel free to contact us at 606.326.2040, 606.326.2228, or e-mail us at .

Adviser Features

ACTC is proud of our diverse and talented faculty and staff advisers. Each fall and spring semester two advisers are featured in our newsletter. Take a moment to learn more about our advisers by clicking here.

Who is my Adviser?

Students can identify their assigned adviser by logging into their student self-service account or into their Starfish account. If you do not have an adviser, contact our office at 606.326.2040 or 606.326.2228 to have an adviser assigned. You can also access helpful tutorials on how to use your student self-service here.

Advising Responsibilities

At ACTC advising is a mutually respectful partnership between the adviser and student. Click here to view the advising syllabus to learn more about student and adviser responsibilities, advising goals, and learner outcomes.

Students need to contact their adviser at least once per semester. Advising appointments can be made through Starfish. Click here to access tutorials on how to use Starfish.
