Student Support Services

Student Support Services - Megan Horne and Jackie Binion

Eligible students can get a step ahead in their classes by taking advantage of free tutoring offered to those eligible at ACTC. The Student Support Services Program was developed through a federal grant from the US Department of Education in 1968. The program offers eligible students such supplemental services as specialized academic advising, tutoring, career counseling, peer mentoring, and study skills instruction. In addition, the program provides some direct financial assistance.

To qualify for the SSS Program, a student must meet one of three criteria:

  • The student must be income eligible.
  • The student must be a first generation college student; neither of his or her parents received a bachelor’s degree.
  • The student must be eligible for disability services.

The goal of the SSS Program is to increase the college retention and graduation rates of its participants and facilitate the process of transition from one level of higher education to the next.

If you are interested in taking advantage of this offer visit Student Support Services in room 217 of the College Drive Campus main building.
