Tips for using Advising Online

• To protect your privacy, never include your social security number with your email and never provide your user ID and/or password to anyone.
• Be a partner in your academic planning by developing an educational plan and creating a tentative schedule each semester.
• Schedule appointments with your advisor using Advisor Trac; don’t just show up.
• Work with your academic advisor to decide on a major.
• Plan wisely - do not wait until the last minute to seek help.
• Familiarize yourself with the college's web pages and online resources.
• When sending questions to your advisor by email, or through our “Contact Us” link, be as specific as possible and provide relevant information such as your full name and academic major. 
• Keep copies of all email correspondence from your advisor, and bring copies if you are meeting face to face.
