The Student Support Services Program was developed through a federal grant from the US Department of Education in 1968. The program offers eligible students such supplemental services as specialized academic advising, tutoring, career counseling, peer mentoring, and study skills instruction. In addition , the program provides some direct financial assistance in the form of grant.
The goal of SSS Program is to increase the college retention and graduation rates of its participants and facilitate the process of transition from one level of higher education to the next.
SSS is a grant funded Federal TRIO Program. The US Department of Education has awarded SSS at ACTC a base award of $293,864.00 to provide services to those students who qualify for the program. All activities and services offered to the students in SSS are made possible through the use of these grant funds.
