Professor Kathy Bullock from Berea College will present "African-American Musical Connections in Appalachia" on Wednesday, Nov. 28, at 11 a.m. at the ACTC Technology Drive Campus.

She will begin with our African musical heritage, then move to the United States to cover African-American folk songs, spirituals, work songs and blues and their substantial influence on Appalachian culture. Through stories and songs, she will explore the musical experiences shared by African-American and Appalachian cultures.

Her free presentation is part of the Smithsonian exhibit, "New Harmonies - Celebrating American Roots Music."
