The Existing Student Support Fund was established in 2006 with a series of gifts that totaled $35,000. The fund has provided emergency funding to approximately 150 students over the past two years. It is managed by a committee of faculty members appointed by the College President & CEO. The committee has worked very effectively with students having emergency needs. This funding has made the difference for students staying in college. It was established by a significant gift of stock from a retired Ashland Inc. attorney matched by Ashland Inc. A number of his colleagues and friends also gave to this fund.
Support goes directly to students in emergency need. The Fund was renamed the Fred Charles Student Fund in honor of Mr. Charles whose vision of students in need provided the initial gift to establish the fund. By establishing an endowment funding will continue in perpetuity for the much needed support of ACTC students in need.
